Federal scholarships are need-based grants. As long as you’re a registered student, a US citizen, and you’ve completed your FAFSA, you are eligible to receive need-based federal aid.
You automatically apply for federal grants each year you submit a FAFSA.
Federal Pell Grants
Maximum Annual Award: $6,345
Federal Pell Grants are need-based entitlements available to undergraduate students pursuing their first degree and who are enrolled for at least three credits or more. Unlike a loan, they do not need to be paid back.
Financial eligibility is determined by a standard formula established by Congress and used by the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate the information reported by students on their FAFSAs, which includes your financial needs, costs to attend school and status as a full-time student.
Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)
Maximum Annual Award: $2,000
Federal SEOGs are awarded, based on availability, to undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need compared to other applicants from Touro College, with priority given to Pell Grant recipients.
