Julia Ayzman Rand earned her BFA and MFA from School of Visual Arts in New York, an MA and MFA from State Academy of Applied Arts and Design in St. Petersburg, Russia. She also received Field Archaeology training with concentration in Artifact Illustration from the Hermitage Museum, department of Archeology and Institute of Archeology in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Julia Ayzman is a figurative painter; her work has been widely exhibited in both solo and group shows in galleries and museums across the country and abroad. Most notably at the Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, the Stieglitz Museum of Decorative and Applied Arts in St. Petersburg, RU, the Museum of American Illustration in New York, Sotheby’s, Phillips de Pury, Art Directors Club, New York Academy of Art Gallery, SVA Chelsea Gallery, Synchronicity Space Gallery, Soho ArtLoft Gallery, NY Society of Etchers, to name a few. 

Her paintings and works on paper are in numerous public and private collections. Her art has been reviewed in Art in America, New York Gallery Guide, Magazine of Printmaking and in Jewish World and Russian Bazaar.

Julia has been teaching as an adjunct professor in the Art Department of Touro College in Brooklyn, NY since 2006. She also developed and launched new courses for the Art Department including Children’s Book Illustration I and II and Ceramics.
