Doreen Marvin earned her first B.A. from Rutgers University in history; a  second B.A. in English from ESC in 1987; and an M.A. in Education - with a concentration in ESL from Adelphi University in 1992. Teaching steadily for many years, Marvin has taught English in various high school yeshivas and retired as an ESL coordinator for the NYCDOE.

Currently, Professor Marvin teaches for Touro College at several locations including Flatbush and for both the undergraduate and graduate programs at another college.
