Shaya Stern
Adjunct Professor, Mathematics
I grew up in Brooklyn and graduated from Yeshiva of Eastern Parkway High School. I spent a couple of years there post-high school and then attended Yeshivas Brisk in Jerusalem. Afterwards, I went to Beth Medrash Govoah in Lakewood, where I live today. After spending several years in the Kollel, I decided to pursue a career in Actuarial Science. I earned my BS in Mathematics at Touro – Flatbush and passed several Actuarial Exams. I was hired as an actuarial student at TIAA-CREF where I am serving as an Actuary in the Actuarial Consulting Services area. I became an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries in 2004, and then I earned my Fellowship in the SOA in 2007. I had the pleasure of joining the adjunct faculty at Touro in 2001.
