Are you returning from Israel after seminary and wondering what comes next? Do you want an undergraduate program with separate, women’s-only classes? If you’re interested in a career in ABA, clinical mental health counseling, IO psychology, nursing, OT, or speech-language pathology, the Accelerated All-Women’s Cohort at Touro’s Lander College of Arts and Sciences (LAS) might be just what you’re looking for.

This program offers a six-month to one-year, accelerated undergraduate experience with direct entry into high-demand graduate or professional programs. You'll study with other women in a frum environment at the Touro LAS campus in Flatbush, with students and faculty who understand where you've been and where you're going. You'll move with the same group of women through your undergraduate and graduate coursework and form close connections that continue long after you’ve entered the workforce.

I love being in an all-women’s cohort. From day one, it’s felt like we’re being taken care of: We have a clear schedule, the same teachers, and the same group of girls all the way through. It makes school feel like a team effort, and that kind of support really makes a difference.

Your Graduate & Professional Pathways at a Glance

For each of these programs, you’ll complete accelerated prerequisite coursework over six months to one year in an all-women’s cohort at the Touro LAS campus in Flatbush. The exact timeline depends on your graduate program and the credits you bring in from seminary, AP exams, CLEP, or Touro’s Freshman Center.

An advisor will help you figure out the best path — and the right combination of credits — to stay on track for the accelerated timeline. Then, you’ll move directly into one of Touro’s respected graduate or professional programs:

  • Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA): Get a direct path into the 36-credit MS in ABA program, and you’ll work toward becoming a board-certified ABA who provides therapy to those on the autism spectrum.
  • Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC): Choose between a two-year or more flexible three-year MS in CMHC program upon your return from seminary.
  • Industrial-Organizational Psychology (IO): Enhance leadership and improve workplace culture by moving directly into the 36-credit MS program in IO psychology.
  • Nursing (BSN): Turn your passion for care into a career with an accelerated track that leads directly into the BSN program, which includes two years of nursing courses.
  • Occupational Therapy (OT): Complete six months (or one year, depending on what you come in with) of prerequisites, and then enter the 30-month OT master’s program with the option to pursue the post-professional doctor of OT (OTD) program online.
  • Speech-Language Pathology (SLP): With your accelerated bachelor’s in speech and communications, you’ll transition directly into the two-year SLP master’s program.

Note: Students pursuing ABA, CMHC, IO psychology, or SLP earn a bachelor’s degree from Touro LAS. Students in nursing and OT complete prerequisite courses before transitioning into their professional programs, but they do not earn a bachelor’s degree from LAS.

FAQs

Here are answers to some common questions we receive about the cohort and what to expect.

How long is the program?

Undergraduate prerequisites take six months to one year to complete, and graduate or professional programs typically take 2-3 years.

Can I work during this program?

It depends on your track. If you're completing the six-month OT prerequisite program, we strongly recommend not working due to the intensive pace. For students in the one-year bachelor’s cohort, many are able to work part-time. The schedule is designed to be frum-friendly and flexible, and advisors can help you plan accordingly.

Do I have to know my pathway upfront?

You don’t need to be 100% certain from day one, but because this is an accelerated program, some decisions need to be made early. For example, if you're deciding between nursing and OT, you need to take biology in the first summer semester so you can decide before the fall semester starts. Touro LAS advisors will help you explore your options and make sure you stay on track.

Is the all-women’s cohort only for seminary grads?

Although the program is built for women returning from seminary, other students with similar goals may be eligible to participate.

What if I’m living in Israel now?

The program is in-person on the Touro LAS campus in Flatbush, so if you’re planning to relocate, please apply.
