Are you curious about the strategy behind a good campaign, how to launch and optimize ads, or how data helps marketers target the right audience? At Touro’s Lander College of Arts & Sciences, you’ll take that curiosity and turn it into expertise with a degree in marketing.

Whether you want to join an agency, build your own business, or step into corporate marketing, you’ll graduate with a portfolio of work that proves your potential and the confidence to pitch yourself.

Why Choose Marketing at LAS

The marketing program at LAS is built for students who want to do marketing — not just study it in theory. From your first class to your final project, you’ll be building practical skills in audience targeting, campaign strategy, digital content creation, and analytics.

Courses are designed for flexibility, with options to learn asynchronously, join live Zoom sessions, or attend in person when available at the Flatbush campus. This format makes it easier to balance school with work, family, and other responsibilities without a fear of falling behind. And no matter how you attend, faculty stay involved and supportive every step of the way.

You’ll also gain fluency with the tools and tactics that drive today’s marketing world. From Canva and CallRail to Semrush, ClickFunnels, and HubSpot, you’ll learn by doing. Many students even work with actual, paying clients that turn into long-term roles.

Students work with real clients during the program, and some graduates are still working with them years later. We give our students the tools to get hired from day one.

Meet the Marketing Faculty

The marketing faculty at LAS blends professional know-how with real-world insights and a deep commitment to your success. Our faculty are branding strategists, business consultants, digital marketers, and data-driven decision-makers who are active in the field. Here are some of the professors you’ll get to know:

  • Professor Michael Diamantstein is a marketing strategist with over a decade of experience. He teaches digital and content marketing with an emphasis on real-world application, and he’s known for helping students land jobs through his connections in the field.
  • Professor John Tantillo is an applied marketing expert known for his work in branding, advertising strategy, and media engagement. With experience as a commentator, author, and consultant, he brings a media-savvy, real-world approach to marketing education. At Touro, he helps students understand how to position brands, influence public perception, and build persuasive campaigns across platforms.
  • Professor Joseph Stern teaches courses in marketing and business strategy with a strong emphasis on analytics, operations, and data-driven decision making. With both corporate and academic experience, he helps students bridge the gap between business theory and real-world application, often focusing on how marketing integrates with broader business functions.

You’ll also get thoughtful feedback, ongoing mentorship, and real-world advice, even after the course ends.

I really recommend taking the entrepreneurship course with Professor Anna Geller. It gives a lot of basics about how to start a business and pitch your ideas, and everyone can benefit from having that knowledge.

Course Spotlight: Consumer Behavior

What makes people click, buy, or bounce? Dig into how consumers think and what drives their decisions in Consumer Behavior (EBKN 201). You’ll gain essential knowledge for every aspiring marketer, including competitive analysis, customer psychology, and behavior-driven strategy.

This course draws on real marketing case studies and behavioral science concepts. It connects marketing theory to everyday business decisions and prepares students to think critically about targeting, messaging, and brand perception.

You’ll explore topics like motivation, personality, perception, learning, and the influence of social class and culture on buying habits. No matter your focus — branding, analytics, or consumer psychology — this class is one of the most popular in our curriculum.

More About the Marketing Major

The marketing major curriculum at LAS is built to give you practical, creative, and strategic experience in a range of real-world scenarios. You’ll start with the business core — foundational courses in accounting, finance, business law, and more — and then niche down to marketing-specific courses in strategy, branding, and analytics.

You’ll work on assignments that mirror the demands of modern marketing teams. Students create their personal brand and digital resume on LinkedIn, manage campaigns across social, email, and paid media, run A/B tests, and more. It’s all designed to simulate the dynamics of modern marketing teams and prepare you for life beyond the classroom.

Learn from Industry Professionals

Plus, industry professionals join the classroom throughout the year to share real insights from the field. As part of our “Tuesdays at Touro” program, alumni and marketing director Yissrael Shapiro discussed career paths and what students can expect in the marketing field. Another session — “Digital Marketing: What You Really Need to Know” — offered an introduction to career-ready tools and strategies for marketers.

From email marketers and SEO specialists to branding pros and agency leads, you’ll get direct access to people working in the spaces you’re aiming to enter.

Create and Market Your Own Business

You’ll bring what you learn in class to life in ambitious projects like building a full business concept and online presence from scratch. Here are a few recent portfolio-worthy examples from real Touro LAS marketing students:

  • Slice Masters: Students created a full-scale business and marketing plan for a fictional family-owned pizza shop. The team developed standard operating procedures, conducted a competitive analysis, defined KPIs, and built SEO and influencer strategies. Their plan included guerrilla marketing ideas, a crisis management framework, and even a gamification element to drive customer loyalty. It was a true end-to-end simulation of launching and running a small business.
  • SG Design Marketing: A student developed a comprehensive social media and content strategy for a fictional luxury real estate brand. The presentation covered everything from writing viral video scripts and mapping influencer collaborations to performing on-page SEO audits and fine-tuning audience targeting. The strategy also included evergreen content pillars, lead magnets, and referral incentives designed not just to build engagement, but to grow long-term brand visibility and customer acquisition.

These in-depth projects reflect the kind of applied, imaginative work that happens in Touro marketing classes every semester.
