Dr. Comollo has a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School and received additional training as a Post Doctoral Research Scientist at Columbia University, in the Pharmacology Department. He also has a Master’s Degree in Biomedical Informatics from University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ and a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Rutgers University. He is a peer reviewed author and an inventor on patents and patent applications.
Dr. Comollo has what hopefully would be considered a modest but respectable student research programs at Touro University and at Kean University, where they use 3D computer modeling and simulation to find putative ion channel modulators. These molecules are then verified in in vitro experiments.
Dr. Comollo’s goals for teaching is for students to have maximum retention. He wants his students to be successful and a positive reflection of his teaching.
Dr. Comollo has taught at the college level since 2020, both asynchronous and “live” online and in person.
Dr. Comollo started teaching at Touro University in the Spring of 2023, and achieved the rank of Assistant Professor in the Fall of 2023.
Before entering academia, Dr. Comollo worked in a wide range of roles, including emergency medical technician, medical technologist performing COVID-19 testing, hotel front desk and night audit staff, hotel cook, security guard, kitchen knife salesman, Subway sandwich artist, liquor store clerk, and dishwasher. These experiences gave him a broad perspective and a strong work ethic.
In his free time, Dr. Comollo enjoys archery, including compound bow and crossbow, as well as kayaking, camping, fishing, gardening, and paintball. He is married and shares his home with two cats, rabbits, and several fish.
