Rebecca Soffer, Ph.D. is the Undergraduate Deputy Chair and Assistant Professor of Psychology at the Lander College of Arts and Sciences in Flatbush. She earned her doctoral degree in Developmental Psychology from the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and completed her postdoctoral training at the Institute for Basic Research in Staten Island, NY.
Dr. Soffer is a licensed Clinical Developmental Psychologist and the founder and Clinical Director of Developmental Partners LP, a private practice committed to delivering accessible, high-quality developmental assessments for children throughout the tri-state area. Dr. Soffer is also a consultant for various community service agencies, schools, and professional organizations, offering expertise in developmental disabilities, autism, and childhood mental health through supervision, staff training, and program development. Additionally, Dr. Soffer is an active member of NEFESH, where she regularly presents at annual conferences on topics related to developmental psychology and mental health.
In her academic role, Dr. Soffer is committed to mentoring undergraduate students as they explore careers in psychology and related fields. She offers individualized support in defining career goals, securing internships, and preparing for graduate study. Many of her students have been accepted into competitive doctoral programs, a testament to their dedication, hard work, and the strong preparation they received at LAS. Through a collaboration between the Lander Colleges and the Association of Orthodox Jewish Professionals (AOJP), Dr. Soffer is working to extend mentoring and advising opportunities to a broader network of psychology students.
