At Touro’s Lander College of Arts & Sciences (LAS), our pre-pharmacy track is focused on helping you complete the coursework required for admission to Touro College of Pharmacy (TCOP). Whether you’re entering college after seminary/yeshiva or continuing your academic journey, you’ll gain the strong foundation, mentorship, and personalized support you need to pursue a meaningful career in pharmacy.
“After completing my PharmD, I got a job at a pharmacy specializing in women's health, which is really rewarding. I speak to a lot of women with different questions, and being able to help them is something special.”
— Yehudis Rosenwasser (TCOP PharmD, ’23)
Choose Your Path to a Career in Pharmacy
At Touro LAS, we offer three distinct pathways to help you transition smoothly from undergraduate study to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at TCOP in Midtown Manhattan. Whether you want to fast-track your education or pursue a more traditional route, each option comes with dedicated advising and a focus on your success.
New Students: Apply to the Integrated Pharmacy Honors Track
If you're a high-achieving high school senior with a strong interest in pharmacy, the Integrated Pharmacy Honors Track could be right for you. You’ll apply to both Touro LAS and the honors track, then interview with the Integrated Honors team alongside a TCOP faculty member before you start at LAS.
Once admitted, you’ll receive a reserved seat and preferred admission consideration to TCOP — as long as you fulfill all requirements, including:
- Staying on track academically and meeting program expectations
- Completing the required prerequisite coursework
- Submitting your PharmCAS application and re-interviewing with TCOP
Note: Admission to the honors track does not guarantee final admission to TCOP. All students must complete the formal application and interview process as required by the program’s accreditor.
Current LAS students: Apply to Touro College of Pharmacy
Already studying at Touro LAS and considering a future in pharmacy? Although a bachelor’s degree is preferred for entry into the PharmD program at TCOP, it’s not required for admission. You can apply to Touro College of Pharmacy after completing at least 67 college-level credits, which must include the required prerequisites.
Once you complete the requirements at LAS, you’ll need to apply to TCOP through the PharmCAS application, before you can be accepted into the PharmD program at TCOP in Midtown Manhattan. The TCOP curriculum includes hands-on experiential learning — including 9 rotations over 54 weeks — and touts a vast healthcare and research network across the tri-state area.
Your advisor will guide you through every stage, whether you’re starting with seminary credits, applying with just the 67 pre-requisite credits, or working toward a full bachelor’s degree. From prerequisite planning to interview prep, you’ll get the support you need to move forward with confidence.
3+4 Fast Track: Start the PharmD While Finishing Your BS
This accelerated BS/PharmD pathway lets you complete three years at Touro LAS, then apply to TCOP for your fourth year. You'll apply through TCOP’s Linkage Agreement route, and upon successful admission, your first year in the PharmD program will fulfill your undergraduate degree requirements at LAS. Some of the benefits of this route include:
- Getting a head start on your PharmD while completing your BS
- Finishing both degrees in seven years instead of eight to enter the workforce faster
- Strong guidance and support from Renne Blinder at LAS and Heidi Fuchs at TCOP
Note: Admission to LAS does not guarantee admission to TCOP. You’ll need to complete the PharmCAS application and interview before starting the PharmD program.
Expand Your Opportunities with a PharmD/MPH or PharmD/MBA
TCOP also offers two dual-degree options to help you expand your skills and impact. The PharmD/MPH, in coordination with NYMC’s School of Health Sciences and Practice, prepares you to lead public health initiatives and improve care on a broader scale. The PharmD/MBA through Touro’s Graduate School of Business equips you for leadership roles in healthcare, biotech, and beyond.
Alumni Spotlight: Mayer Goldberg, BS, PharmD, BCPS
Mayer Goldberg always knew he wanted a career that combined flexibility and the opportunity to help others — whether by working directly with patients or contributing to global medical research.
Choosing an undergraduate program felt like a pivotal moment, and Touro’s Lander College of Arts & Sciences won out for its strong academic reputation, small class sizes, and the pathway it offered to graduate-level study.
“It was a life-altering decision,” Mayer said. “I was able to learn from professors on a more personal level at LAS,” he said.
After completing his bachelor’s degree, continuing on to Touro College of Pharmacy felt like a natural next step.
“Touro College of Pharmacy is a unique program that prepares the next generation of pharmacists by providing enhanced clinical and experiential education,” he said. “The school has a reputation for putting an emphasis on professionalism and developing premier future pharmacists. Additionally, the pharmacy school provided specialized training for anyone interested in pursuing a broad array of pharmaceutical jobs.”
Today, Mayer works as a clinical pharmacy specialist in an emergency department, where no two days look the same. He educates patients on safe medication use, collaborates with surgeons on appropriate antibiotic administration, and responds to critical events like cardiac arrests and strokes.
“The rigorous program at Touro College of Pharmacy prepared me to ensure the highest level of care is being provided for every single patient,” Mayer said.
