Elisheva Schwartz
Woman with Parasol
June 15, 2018
Elisheva Schwartz had two projects on display at the art fair. One was a copy of a painting of Monet’s Woman with a Parasol; the second painting, a man praying at the Kotel, surrounded by a bevy of colors painted with a palette knife, was her own design.
“I loved playing with colors, and the colors of the painting symbolize many things: hardship, spirituality and the eventual coming of Moshiach.” Schwartz, who is also a makeup artist, said that she was able to develop a better sense of color during her classes at LAS. She joked that it gave her a better “foundation” for her makeup work.
