Buchinger started LAS this semester and, needless to say, plans on becoming a dentist. “I’ve always been fascinated by the art and science behind dentistry,” said Buchinger. He is excited to start taking his classes in chemistry and microbiology. “LAS is a good place for guys to go after Israel,” explained Buchinger who spent a year in Israel at Mercaz HaTorah. “I want to gain knowledge and general information about the world.”

Buchinger is also an avid bike rider. His longest ride was 102 miles and if he looked slightly sleepy during class registration, he had a very good reason: days earlier, he had biked a few dozen miles from his parents’ home in Monsey to One World Trade Center. “I love riding by myself,” he explained. “You’re alone and you can just explore your own mind.”
