Digital Multimedia Design

Digital Multimedia Design explores the rapidly changing world of digital graphic design and multimedia communications with required courses in six areas:

  • Principles of design
  • Interface layout for print and electronic media
  • Image processing and illustration
  • Web and multimedia design
  • Internship experience
  • Portfolio preparation

Elective courses explore photography, typography, design history, information design, video production, computer illustration, drawing and painting, animation, design for mobile applications, and digital storytelling.

By graduation, students produce professional portfolios to represent their best work and skills to prospective employers or for graduate school admissions.

Digital Multimedia Design exposes students to practical skills required for the following jobs: advertising art director, web designer, production assistant, mobile interface designer, digital illustrator, digital photo processor, freelance media designer, and broadcast designer among many others.

An Honors Track is available to students with a minimum 3.5 GPA, permitting them to take 6 credits of master’s level courses in the Graduate School of Technology and apply the credits toward both their undergraduate degree and their master’s degree when the student enrolls in the Touro Graduate School of Technology.

Prof. Alfred Doyle serves as chair of the program.
Prof. Susan DeCastro is a full time faculty and Coordinator of the Digital Multimedia Design department in Flatbush.
