Honors

Honors programs and opportunities abound for those students who are ready for the added challenge.

Honors Program

Open to our best and brightest students, our Honors Program is uniquely designed to develop your creativity, hone your leadership skills, and generally prepare you to change the world for the better.

Honors Tracks

The Medical Honors Pathway is an intensive and rewarding curriculum that leads to a bachelor's degree from Touro and a medical degree from New York Medical College, provided you meet, and continue to meet, all requirements. As part of the program you will be mentored and counseled by Lander College and NYMC faculty and staff. Integrated honors track programs in Health Sciences for those interested in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Physician Assistant careers, Osteopathic Medicine, and Pharmacy offer highly focused and challenging curricula for students set on a career in these fields. Graduates of our honors tracks receive priority admission to Touro’s related graduate and professional programs.

Honors Majors

Highly motivated and qualified students majoring in biology, psychology, and political science may select an Honors track.

Honors students must complete intensive research projects and receive additional mentoring by experienced faculty. The Honors designation will help you gain an extra edge when applying to graduate and professional schools.

Contact department chairpersons for more information on our Honors offerings and requirements.

Honor Societies and Awards

Every year, we award special honors designation to graduates who finish at the top of their class. We are also home to several chapters of prestigious national honor societies, including:
Sigma Beta Delta, the international honor society in business and management;
Phi Alpha Theta, national honor society in history;
Psi Chi, the student chapter of the American Psychological Society (APS); and
Alpha Chi, the honor society for general academic excellence.
